My five cents

  • I am a Polish native who moved to Toronto, Canada in 1982. After teaching various subjects and studying in Education and Fine Art, I moved to Elliot Lake to create art, both two- and three-dimensional. My life now is primarily devoted to creating vessels in stoneware and Raku clay, but I also love painting and copper/silver smithing as well as creating or designing boho jewellery.

  • Over the years, I have been fascinated by colour and texture, abstract shapes, new harmony, and abstract like landscapes and depicting mostly women in the wider meaning of Mother Earth with past traumas, learning and growing, and moving towards the better balanced and lived future. I hope that my art will bring a moment of reflection while becoming a part of everyday life whether it is a stoneware vessel, a meaningful painting, or a unique piece of jewellery made just for you to cherish. Whenever I feel like learning in a group setting, I travel to the Haliburton College of Art (Fleming College) to meet other artists, teachers, and friends while exploring new venues in Art creation.

  • In Elliot Lake, I have my own art studio, which I am planning on opening to guests on certain weekends once I get more organized.  The first Open House, I am planning is on Saturday, December 21st, 12-3. Still, please call me to let me know who is coming. My email address is jolaklim@gmail.com
